Founded in 1967 by Hugh A. Hair and Carl W. Gerst Jr. as a supplier of microwave components and subassemblies to the defense electronics market, today's Anaren is an innovator of standard products and custom microwave and RF technology (100MHz to 30GHz) to several markets.
Anaren's customers include the world's leading OEMs in the wireless-infrastructure, wireless consumer products, satellite, defense electronics, healthcare, and select other sectors utilizing complex microwave and RF technology.
As of this writing (February, 2014), Anaren has approximately 880 employees at work in five design and manufacturing facilities worldwide – two in Syracuse, NY; one in Salem, NH, one in Littleton, Colorado; and one in Suzhou, China. We also operate several technical-sales offices worldwide, engage a large network of independent sales representatives worldwide, and rely on several world-class electronics distributions companies, including: Arrow, Avnet, Digi-Key, Farnell, BFI Optilas, Mouser, Richardson RFPD, and RS.
Anaren's customer base is geographically diverse, with sales of to North America, Europe, and Asia representing 29%, 19%, and 52% respectively. With very few exceptions (close U.S. allies), our military technology is sold to U.S. based primes. By contrast, our commercial wireless products are sold to major wireless OEMs the world over.
